Note. The pads must be replaced on both sides.
Remove the brake pads in the following order:
- turn on 1st gear and set the stops under the wheels;
- raise the rear of the car;
- remove the wheel;
- remove the drum with the hub;

- remove lower spring 1 (pic. 9.15);

- remove cups 2 (pic. 9.16) springs by turning them 90°;
- remove the upper ends of the blocks from the wheel cylinder. Remove the pads, the spacer bar of the automatic gap adjustment mechanism and the spring;

- secure the wheel cylinder pistons against falling out using tool 1 (pic. 9.17);
Attention! Be careful not to damage the protective covers of the wheel cylinder.
- disconnect the parking brake cable from the block;
- check the tightness of the wheel cylinder, the condition of its protective covers, the wear of the drum;
- if necessary, replace the wheel cylinder and drum.
Install the brake pads in the following order:
- clean the brake shield from dust and dirt;

- replace O-ring 1 (pic. 9.18);
- on surface A, apply a thin layer of lubricant type LUBRITHERM G200;
- lubricate the parking brake lever drive axle;

- lubricate the threads of the stud 2 (pic. 9.19) gap regulator;
- screw the adjusting wheel 1 onto the stud so that there is a small distance between the wheel and the stud shoulder;
- set the automatic gap adjustment knob to position A;

- continue further installation in the reverse order of removal, while tightening nut 1 (pic. 9.20) fastening the hub to the drum;
- torque of 200 Nm and lock nut 1 using the tool;
- remove air from the hydraulic brake system;
- with the engine running with great force, smoothly and continuously press the brake pedal several times;
- reinstall the wheel by tightening the bolts to a torque of 85 Nm;
- lower the back of the car;
- adjust the parking brake.
