- mandrel for installation 0720-D;
- inertial puller 0316-A;
- hex head 0720-G.
Remove the control valve in the following order:
- remove the steering gear as described above;
Attention! To prevent dirt from entering the power steering circuit, close the two holes in the control valve and two power steering pipes with plastic plugs.
Pic. 8.24. Removing tubes: 1, 2 - tubes; 3 - bolt; 4, 5 - holes
- remove tubes 1 and 2 (pic. 8.24), supplying the working fluid;
- close holes 4 and 5 in the body;
- unscrew the bolt 3 of the gear rack support by a few turns;
Pic. 8.25. Mounting bolts: 1 - bolt
- unscrew fixing bolts 1 (pic. 8.25);
- clamp the steering gear housing in a vice with soft lining;
Pic. 8.26. Installing the steering mechanism in a vise: 1 - valve axis; 2 - body
- turn axis 1 (pic. 8.26) valve until it stops in the gear rack;
- note the position of the valve axis in relation to the body 2 and the position of the steering rack in relation to its body;
Note. This will avoid setting the steering wheel in the position corresponding to the rectilinear movement of the car.
- after hitting the gear rack, continue to turn until the valve exits the crankcase (the helix in the gear allows the valve to be lifted);
Pic. 8.27. Removing the sealing ring: 1 - ring; 2 - crankcase
- remove sealing ring 1 (pic. 8.27).
Install the distribution valve in the following order:
- install a new sealing ring;
Pic. 8.28. Distribution valve: 1 - gear
- grease gear 1 (pic. 8.28) grease TOTAL N3924/TOTAL N3945;
- put marks on the new valve in the same place where they were on the old valve;
Pic. 8.29. Distributor valve installation: 1 - inertial puller; 2 - mandrel
- insert the camshaft using the inertial puller 1 (pic. 8.29) and mandrels 2;
Attention! Do not use the valve mounting bolt to press it in.
- tighten bolts 1 (see fig. 8.25) torque 15 Nm;
Pic. 8.30. Power steering tubes: 1 - O-rings
- install new O-rings 1 (pic. 8.30);
- install the tubes for supplying the working fluid to their original places;
- tighten the fitting of the hydraulic booster pipes to a torque of 8 Nm;
- adjust the clearance in the steering mechanism;
- install the steering mechanism on the car;
- fill the hydraulic drive with working fluid;
- bleed the air from the power steering circuit.
