In neutral position, the shift lever is automatically set on the 3rd and 4th gear lines (20, see fig. 1.11).
When shifting from any gear to «neutral» the lever tends to return to this position under the action of the springs.
All forward gears are synchronized for easy and quiet gear changes. To engage 5th gear and reverse gear, be sure to push the lever to the right with some force to prevent the inclusion of 3rd or 4th gear.
Engage reverse gear only when the vehicle is stationary, while the reverse lights come on if the ignition key is in position «A».
With the engine running, shift gears only with the clutch pedal fully depressed to avoid damage to the gearbox gear teeth.
Attention! While driving, do not keep your hand on the gear lever, as hand pressure is transferred to the shift forks and premature wear occurs.
