Seat adjustment (Peugeot 206)

Front seats

Several models of seats are installed on the car. The main ones are multifunctional seats with manual adjustment. To unload the spine, sit down with the maximum displacement of the seat back, leaning with your entire back on the back of the seat. The head should be in line with the spine. A slight increase in the tilt of the seat back on long trips allows you to relax the muscles of the back, but at the same time, the arms lying on the highest point of the steering wheel should be slightly bent at the elbows.

Note. Notes1. All seat adjustments should be carried out only on a stationary vehicle.2. Head restraints must always be fitted and well adjusted.

The front seats allow you to perform the following operations (pic. 1.80):

• 1 - adjustment of the longitudinal position, for which lift the fixing bracket, move the seat to the desired position and release the bracket to fix the seat position;
• 2 - opening access to the rear seats (with a three-door body), to do this, press forward on one of the two levers to tilt the backrest and slide the seat forward. The selected seat adjustments are retained after they are returned to their original position;
• 3 - backrest tilt adjustment, for which you need to press back one of the two levers;
• 4 - seat height adjustment, for which pull the handle up, which will unlock it. Moving up or down on the seat, select the desired position and release the lever;
• 5 - turn on the electric seat heating when the key switch is pressed. The temperature is controlled automatically. Pressing the button again turns off the heating;
• 6 - headrest height adjustment, for which simultaneously press the button located on the left guide at the base of the headrest support and move it so that the upper edge is at the level of the top of the head. To remove the head restraint, press the release tab.

A luggage box is mounted under the front seat for the passenger (pic. 1.81). To access it, do the following:

• move the seat all the way back;
• lift the seat cushion at the front and pull it forward to release it from the latches;
• lift the trunk lid.

Before lowering the seat cushion, make sure the luggage compartment lid is properly closed.

Before folding the seat backs, the head restraint must be removed to ensure that the seat back is fully lowered. If there is a modular cushion on the seat, it can be removed and the seatback will lower horizontally.



Removal of a modular pillow of a forward seat of the passenger spend in a following order (pic. 1.82):

• move the seat all the way back;
• lift the seat cushion at the front and pull it to unlock the cushion locks;
• fold the seat cushion forward;
• disconnect the seat heater terminal block by pressing the metal tab;
• Pull the seat cushion up, gently rocking left and right to make it easier to remove.

Install the modular front passenger seat cushion in reverse order (pic. 1.83):

• move the seat all the way back;
• install the seat cushion latches into the locks;
• connect the terminal block of the electric seat heater;
• lower the seat cushion into place.

Backseat

Warnings1. When folding the rear seat, first raise the cushion, then lower the backrest. Otherwise, the seat will be damaged.2. When installing the seats in place, check the freedom of movement of the seat belts.

Fold the rear seat in the following order:

• lift the back of the cushion 1 (pic. 1.84);
• fold the cushion against the backs of the front seats;
• move the seat belts to openings 2;
• pull lever 3 to unlock seatback 4;
• remove the head restraint;
• lower the backrest 4.

Install the rear seat in its original position in the following order:

• raise the seat back;
• lower the seat cushion;
• before locking the front of the seat cushion in its original position, you must reinstall the lap seat belt and the buckles to install the seat belt buckles.

Remove the rear seat cushion in the following order:

• fold the seat cushion towards the backs of the front seats;

• release the cushion latches (arrows, fig. 1.85);
• remove the fasteners from the mounting sockets;
• remove the seat cushion.
