General information about diesel engines (Peugeot 206)

On Peugeot 206 cars, in addition to gasoline, diesel engines of the DW series can be installed: DW4 TD, DW10 TD, DW10 ATED, DW8. They have proven themselves on many previous Peugeot models.

The DW10 TD engine is a four-cylinder in-line, overhead camshaft, direct fuel injection. High pressure fuel pump (injection pump) and the coolant pump are driven by the timing belt. The engine is located transversely at the front of the vehicle and is equipped with a noise-absorbing casing. This engine is available in 2 versions:

• DW10 ATED - with air heat exchanger;
• DW10 TD - without heat exchanger.

The DW10 ATED engine is an improved modification of the DW10 TD engine. The improvement in power characteristics and torque parameters is achieved by adjusting the turbocharging pressure parameters by an electronic engine control unit.

The DW8 engine has a split combustion chamber. Cylinder head with prechamber type ADVANCED COMET RICARDO (similar to the one installed on the TUD5 engine). An oil sump with a container that allows the oil to be drained using a suction unit. The engine is equipped with a noise-absorbing casing.
