Drain the coolant in the following order:
Pic. 4.74. Removing the plug from the expansion tank of the cooling system: 1 - cork
- unscrew plug 1 (pic. 4.74) expansion tank;
Pic. 4.75. Radiator drain plug: 1 - cork
- unscrew plug 1 (pic. 4.75) drain hole of the radiator;
Note. Put a piece of hose on the drain hole so that the liquid flowing from the system does not splash.
Pic. 4.76. Cooling plug: 1 - plug
- unscrew cap 1 (pic. 4.76) drain hole of the cooling system;
Pic. 4.77. Cooling plug: 1 - cork
- unscrew plug 1 (pic. 4.77) and drain the coolant from the engine cooling system.
Fill the cooling system and remove air from it in the following order:
- before filling the system with coolant, flush it with clean fresh water;
- check the tightness of the engine cooling system;
Pic. 4.78. Filling the engine cooling system: 1 - cylinder for filling coolant
- install bottle 1 on the filler neck of the expansion tank (pic. 4.78) for filling coolant;
- unscrew all the plugs of the drain holes of the cooling system;
- slowly start pouring coolant into the cooling system;
- sequentially block the drain holes with plugs as coolant flows through them without air bubbles;
- the cylinder for filling the coolant must be filled to the 1 liter mark for proper bleeding of the system;
- start the engine;
- stabilize the crankshaft speed from 1500 to 2000 min-1 until the end of the second cooling cycle (turning the engine cooling fans on and then off), maintaining the filling of the cylinder, which creates excess pressure in the system;
- stop the engine;
- remove bottle 1 (see fig. 4.78) for filling coolant;
- close the cap on the tank as quickly as possible to remove air bubbles;
- if necessary, bring the coolant level to the maximum mark with a cold engine.
