Removing
Raise and secure the vehicle (use a two post lift). Remove rear wheels.
- A: left side.
- B: right side.
Turn away bolts (1) and remove the protective element (2).
Vehicles with rear drum brakes
Remove the center console (see corresponding operation).
Loosen the nut (3).
Disconnect the parking brake cables (4) at the level of the rocker.
Disconnect the parking brake cable sheaths from the body.
Vehicles with rear disc brakes
Disconnect the parking brake cables (4) (in the zone «A»).
Remove the parking brake cables from the guides (4).
All cars
On each side: Disconnect the brake hoses (5) from brake cabins (in the zone «b»).
Close the holes on both sides with plugs.
Disconnect connectors (6).
Remove rear suspension springs (see corresponding operation).
Support the rear axle cross member with a lifting device.
Turn away bolts (7) (from each side).
Turn away bolts (8) (from each side).
Move the rear axle (down).
Installation
Position the rear axle under the body in the same position it was in when it was removed.
Turn away bolts (9) (from each side).
Remove the top support cup (10) springs and bottom cup (11).

Raise the rear axle «X» - 160.5 mm using a jack to lift the units.
Note. Rear axle self-centering thanks to shoulder bolts (8).
Note. All bolts (8) must touch the cap (lids), before torque tightening the first bolt.
Tightening torque 70 Nm.
Install the parts in reverse order.
