Location of CAN CAR ECU
The CAN CAR network connects all safety nodes.
Data transfer rate 125 Kbps (Low Speed).
The transmission of information remains constant throughout the entire CAN CAR network.
The transmission of messages over the network occurs periodically, and each computer processes its own information.
Network communication management and power supply establishment «+ CAN» carried out by the switching unit (BSI 1).
The computers of the CAN CAR network have their own regulation and are connected to power, as the case may be, or «+ CAN», or «+BAT» or «+ARS», that come from BSM.
Note. Opening of one of the two wires or short circuit between the wires «CAN CAR High» or «CAN CAR Low» communicates over the network, with the submission of information about the error.
CAN CAR voltage level (oscilloscope readings)
- «R»: CAN CAR High.
- «Q»: CAN CAR Low.
Voltage: 2 V.
Time: 1 m/s.
Test conditions:
- the engine is not running;
- ignition is on.
Results: variable bursts indicate information circulating over high (High) CAN CAR network lines.
Note. The CAN CAR Low signal complements the CAN CAR High signal.
CAN CAR Low network voltage levels:
- low level - 1 V
- high level - 4.8 V
CAN CAR High network voltage levels:
- low level - 0 V
- high level - 3.8 V
