Note. To check the tightness of the high pressure fuel rail and injectors, the intake manifold must be removed. It is not necessary to remove the main elements of the system to check the tightness of the high pressure rail supply pipe.
With valve «Schrader» to check and control the pressure, depressurize the fuel circuit.
Note. When disconnecting the pressure gauge, the valve opening with a rag to prevent fuel from splashing out.
Remove the fuel rail.
Degrease and dry the areas to be checked.
Spray with leak detection compound «Ardrox 9D1 Brent» on fastenings of fuel pipes of a high pressure (in the zone «b» And «d»).
Spray the same compound onto the high pressure rail (in the zone «With»).
Let the compound dry. Connect the battery.
Switch on the ignition to increase the pressure in the fuel rail to 5 bar (pressure corresponding to low supply pressure).
Check for leaks (in the spray zones of the composition, in the presence of a leak, the indicator composition will change color).
Switch off the ignition.
Turn the ignition back on.
Check the pressure in the low pressure supply circuit (the value determined by the pressure gauge must not fall below 4.5 bar and must not fall within 45 seconds). Switch off the ignition.
If the result is not as specified, locate the leak and replace the defective part or parts.
Repeat the test procedure until the circuit is sealed.
Install previously removed parts.
