Removing the torque converter
Remove the gearbox (see corresponding operation).
Special fixtures:
1 - handles for removing and installing torque converter 0338 V;
2 - hook for extracting the sealing collar of the torque converter 0338 G;
3 - bushing for installation of torque converter seal 0338 R;
4 - elbow for installation of torque converter 0338 S.
Install tool 1.
Pull and release the torque converter (1).
Attention. The torque converter contains a large amount of working fluid.
Removing the torque converter seal
Remove the cuff (2) with tool 2.
Installation of a sealing cuff of the hydrotransformer
Clean the cuff pocket.
Install a new seal (2) with tool 3.
Torque converter installation
Perform a visual inspection:
- torque converter centering element (from the side of the crankshaft and torque converter);
- seating surface of the seal on the torque converter;
- three attachment points;
- oil pump drive;
- splines of the turbine shaft and torque converter.
Note. Avoid contact with liquid other than the recommended oil. Before installing a new torque converter, partially fill it with oil.
Lubricate the inner socket of the torque converter collar.
Gradually install the torque converter (1) using devices 1, slightly shaking it around the axis to facilitate the entry of splines.
Make sure the torque converter (1) installed correctly with tool 4.
Install the gearbox (see corresponding operation).
Add transmission fluid to normal level (see corresponding operation).
Initialize Fluid Wear Counter (follow the procedure indicated on the diagnostic tool).
