Dismantling the input shaft of the manual gearbox MA5 and BE4 / 5 (Peugeot 207)

Protect the end of the shaft by screwing on the nut (11) using tool 1b of the press.

Push into the 3rd gear (60) and remove the rear bearing (59).

Attention. flat side «e» tool 1b must face the gear so as not to rest on the teeth.

Remove:

• pinion gear (62) 4th gear and its thrust sleeve (61);
• sliding sleeve (63a) and inner sleeve (63b) (note the position of the 4th gear and the position of the inner clutch in relation to the synchronizer);
• 3rd gear drive gear (60).

Remove front bearing (64) using tool 1b and a press.





Remove the outer race of the input shaft rear bearing using a mandrel 2.
