1. If the wiper does not operate at all or operates too slowly, check the motor connector for a secure fit and the motor wiring for damage and proper grounding. If everything is in order, check the current consumed by the electric motor by inserting an ammeter into its circuit and turning on the wiper. The current consumption must not exceed 5 A.
2. If no current is supplied to the electric motor at all, check fuse No. 4 by turning on the heater fan. If it works, then the fuse is good, if not, the fuse is blown. If the fuse is OK, use a 12V test lamp to test the wiring from the fuse to the motor for an open.
3. If the electric motor draws too much current, check the windshield wiper linkages for freedom of movement. If everything is in order here, you will have to remove the electric motor for further inspection. Similarly, if the motor draws too little current (with a normally charged battery), you will have to remove it for further verification.
