2. Note the position of the power wires of the generator and then disconnect them from its back cover (see photo).
3. Loosen the adjusting and pivot bolts, turn the adjuster towards the engine and remove the drive belt from the pulley (see photo).
4. Support the generator and unscrew and remove the adjusting and hinge bolts. Carefully remove the generator from the machine.
5. The generator is installed in the reverse order. Before connecting the wires to the battery, check that the alternator wiring is already connected and that all nuts are securely tightened.
6. Adjust the tension of the alternator drive belt (see next section).
Removal and installation of the generator on models with XU engines
1. The removal and installation procedure is the same as above, but note that because the hinge bolt cannot be completely pulled out, the hole for it in the bracket is made with a slot (see photo).
