1. If the coolant is contaminated with deposits and rust, the system must be flushed.
2. Drain coolant (see previous section).
3. Remove the thermostat (see section 8).
4. If not already done, disconnect the bottom hose from the radiator.
5. Insert a garden hose into the thermostat housing so that the water flows through the motor in the reverse direction and exits through the bottom hose hole. Continue rinsing until the outflowing water is clear.
6. Insert a garden hose into the upper hose of the radiator and flush the radiator in the normal flow direction. If the radiator is particularly dirty, it may be useful to remove it, turn it over and rinse it in the opposite direction.
7. Descaling agents and chemical detergents should only be used as a last resort and the manufacturer's instructions should be strictly followed when using them.
8. When flushing is complete, replace the thermostat and reconnect the hoses.
