2. If antifreeze is used in the cooling system, the liquid must be drained into a suitable container (not less than 7 l) for reuse.
3. Open the drain cock located at the bottom front of the radiator (see photo). Install heater controller (on the dashboard) to the maximum heating position.
4. After all the liquid has drained, clean the drain valve with a wire to be sure that it is not clogged.
5. Keep in mind that without disassembling the cooling system, it is impossible to completely drain all the liquid, because. some of it will still remain in the core of the heater. If antifreeze is not added to the water, even after "fusion" fluid in winter, the core of the heater may break.
6. If you are going to reuse the drained coolant, cover the container to keep dirt out.
Draining coolant on XU engines
1. Draining the coolant is carried out according to the same principle as above, however, you must additionally remove the plug of the expansion tank and the drain plug of the engine water jacket (located immediately above the intermediate bearing of the drive shaft).
