Attention: on the Lucas CAV/Roto-Diesel injection pump, the maximum speed adjustment screw is sealed and sealed during factory assembly. If your machine is still under warranty, this seal cannot be removed. Maximum RPM control requires the use of a tachometer - see section 9 for alternative methods.
1. Start the engine and bring it up to normal operating temperature.
2. Ask an assistant to depress the gas pedal to the stop and check that the maximum engine speed corresponds to the value indicated in Specifications. It is forbidden to keep the engine at maximum speed for more than 2-3 seconds.
3. If adjustment is necessary, turn off the engine and loosen the locknut. Turn the maximum speed adjustment screw in the desired direction and tighten the locknut again (see photo).
4. Check the adjustment by repeating the procedure in paragraph 2.
5. Turn off the ignition.
