Interruptions in the operation of the XUD9 engine (405 models with CAV / Roto-Diesel injection pump) — causes (Peugeot 305)

1. If the engine is intermittent under light load and a constant speed of about 2500 rpm, you can make the following checks (keep in mind that all this applies only to models with CAV / Roto-Diesel injection pumps, and not Bosch).

2. Check if the fuel hose between the fuel filter and the injection pump is kinked.

3. Inspect engine mounts and subframe brackets for secure fastening.

4. Check the ventilation of the fuel tank and make sure that it does not create a vacuum (a sign of the latter is a loud hissing sound when removing the fuel cap).

5. Check that all fuel pipe fittings are tight and that they are airtight.

6. If you are unable to fix the problem yourself, you should contact the company center "Peugeot" for installation on high-pressure fuel pumps of modified pressure valves.
