2. The stroke of the pump is set by setting the throttle valve to a certain position and then adjusting the pump drive mechanism. To set the desired throttle position, for example, a drill of a certain diameter can be used, on which there should be no scratches or dents. To check the stroke of the carburetor pump, it must be turned over. Loosen the nut on the pump drive link between the throttle lever and the pump drive arm. Open the throttle and insert a drill between the edge of the throttle and the body. While holding the flapper in this position, turn the adjusting nut so that it just swings on the pump drive arm and then tighten the locknut. Check the adjustment and pull out the drill.
3. Fuel from the accelerator pump is fed into the atomizer diffuser, resembling an inverted letter in shape "U". In case of poor performance of the accelerator pump, the sprayer should be checked and, if necessary, adjusted.
4. The operation of the atomizer is checked on the removed carburetor. Place a suitable container under the carburetor and, without disconnecting the fuel hose from it, fill the float chamber with fuel. Manually open the throttle and observe how the fuel will be injected. With the damper open about 8 mm, the fuel jet should pass somewhere in the middle between the edge of the damper and the wall of the well (see b/fig. 3.9).
5. If adjustment is necessary, carefully bend the nozzle to obtain the desired spray direction. At the end of the adjustment, check the direction of the jet again.
Accelerator pump control (Solex PBISA carburetors)
1. Regulation is carried out according to the same principle as above. The correct drill size for adjusting the stroke of the pump on the latest carburetors is indicated in Specifications.
2. On 34 PBISA 14 and 35 PBISA 14 carburetors, the accelerator pump nozzle should direct fuel to the center of the throttle valve, and not between it and the wall of the well, as shown in B / fig. 3.9.
Accelerator pump control (Weber carburetors)
34 IBP
3. On this carburetor, only the stroke of the accelerator pump is regulated. Regulation is carried out according to the same principle as on carburetors of different models. The size of the drill for adjusting the stroke of the pump is indicated in Specifications.
36 TLP and 32/34 DRTC4 100
4. On these carburetors, the accelerator pump is factory set and cannot be changed.
