1. Engine disassembly is best done on a clean work bench. Before installing the engine with gearbox on the table, they should be cleaned from dirt, oil and grease from the outside.
2. Be careful not to bring dirt into the engine.
3. Clean the engine of dirt, for example with kerosene.
4. Wipe the engine with a cloth and dry it. After that, you can start disassembling.
5. As the engine is dismantled, briefly inspect its parts before washing in kerosene and drying. This inspection is necessary because it can determine the condition of the engine. Do not immerse parts with internal channels in kerosene (e.g. crankshaft). Such parts are cleaned with a rag soaked in kerosene, and the internal channels are cleaned with wire. If necessary, blow out the channels with compressed air.
6. When assembling, all gaskets and seals must be replaced with new ones.
7. Do not throw away old gaskets as they can serve as a model for the manufacture of new ones.
8. We suggest disassembling in the following sequence: remove the clutch, then the gas distribution mechanism (You can swap these operations if you wish). After that, disconnect the gearbox, remove the cylinder head, then the crankshaft and connecting rods with pistons. In the process, you can support the engine with wooden blocks.
9. If possible, reinstall bolts, washers, and nuts in their original locations and hand-tighten. This will subsequently allow you not to lose or mix up fasteners that cannot be installed in place; they should be laid out so that it is immediately clear where they were removed from.
