Timing Housing Seal (All Models) (Peugeot 305)

1. On some models, the timing cover gasket is not initially installed. Instead, a special sealant is used. On these models, the O-ring between the cylinder block and the timing case has a different size.

2. When installing the timing cover on these models, either use a room temperature sealant and replace the o-ring with a new one of the correct size, or install the cover with a gasket and a normal o-ring.

3. O-rings can be identified by their inside diameter: 12mm when used with gasket and 14mm when used with sealant.
