63. The starter lock/reverse light switch is located immediately above the shift lever. The switch breaks the starter circuit in all lever positions except "R" And "N" and turns on the reverse lights when the lever is in the position "R".
64. If the interlock/switch starts to malfunction, it should be replaced (it is beyond repair). Disconnect the wiring from the old switch, unscrew and remove it. Screw in the new switch and connect the wiring to it. The lock/switch does not need to be adjusted.
65. If water and salt get on the contacts of the switch and on the switch itself, it may start to work poorly. To protect the switch, you can install a protective cover on it, and lubricate the switch itself with silicone grease or petroleum jelly.
