Removing
Disconnect the wire from the negative battery terminal.
Install a liquid collection pan under the engine.

Mark and disconnect fuel pipes 1 and 2 from the fuel filter cover (pic. 4.72). To prevent dirt from entering, close the fuel pipes and fittings on the fuel filter with suitable plugs.
Disconnect the connector 3 of the fuel heater.
If present, disconnect the water presence sensor connector.

Unscrew cover 1 (pic. 4.73) fuel filter.
Attention! Do not clamp the fuel filter housing in a vise.
Remove the gasket and filter element.
Remove the fuel filter housing.
Drain the fuel from the fuel filter housing into a suitable container. Remove the water drain bolt from the fuel filter housing.
Clean the fuel filter chamber with a brush and SODIMAC 35 degreaser.
Installation
Remove the new filter element from the package just before installation.
Install the fuel filter housing and secure with bolts, tightening them to a torque of 10 Nm.
Install new filter element 3 and gasket 2 into the housing.

Remove the center plug 3 (pic. 4.74) from cover 2 of the fuel filter.
Make sure that the cover is correctly positioned, while the mounting tabs A must be aligned.

Install the cap and tighten it by hand so that the mark C (pic. 4.75) on the cover approached marks B on the fuel filter housing.
Attention! Be careful not to exceed the paint mark for the maximum tightening of the fuel filter cap.
Finally tighten the fuel filter cap with a special wrench until marks C on the cap and B on the fuel filter housing are aligned.
Connect fuel pipes 1 and 2 to the fuel filter cap (see fig. 4.72), connectors for the heater and the water presence sensor.
Connect the wire to the negative battery terminal.
Fill the circuit with fuel using a manual priming pump.
Do computer programming.
Start the engine.
Check for fuel leaks.
Attention! Follow the cleanliness requirements when working on the fuel system. When installing, new high pressure fuel lines must be used.
