Towing Precautions
Since the gearbox is lubricated only when the engine is running, the vehicle may be towed with the drive wheels raised. In exceptional cases, vehicles with automatic transmission may be towed up to 50 km at a maximum speed of 50 km/h, with the selector in position «N». If there is a platform for transporting cars, only the front of the car can be raised.
Operation and Maintenance Precautions
Observe the following rules:
- while driving:
- it is forbidden to move with the ignition off;
- it is forbidden to tow the car in order to start the engine, as this is impossible if the car is equipped with an automatic transmission;
- do not lower the gearbox on bare ground;
- do not use the tubes as handles to lift, turn, pull or push the gearbox;
- be sure to insert the pin holding the torque converter when removing the transmission. Remove the pin just before connecting the engine to the gearbox;
- when carrying out any work on the gearbox, take all necessary measures to maintain cleanliness;
- it is forbidden to disconnect:
- battery with the engine running;
- computer with the ignition on;
- before connecting any electrical connector, check:
- status of all terminals (for deformation, oxidation, etc.);
- presence and condition of mechanical blocking;
- when checking electrical equipment:
- the battery must be fully charged;
- it is forbidden to use a voltage source of more than 16 V;
- do not use a test lamp;
- when driving in emergency mode (Automatic transmission locked and hydraulically engaged 3rd gear) it is forbidden to exceed the speed of 100 km/h.
