- check for errors with a diagnostic tool;
- raise the car on a lift or place the car in a horizontal position on an inspection ditch;
- set selector to position «P», not including the parking brake;
- connect the diagnostic tool;
- select function «Parameter measurement»;
Pic. 5.64. Plug location (1) pouring oil into the gearbox
- remove plug 1 (pic. 5.64) for filling oil;
- using filling cylinder 0341 or a tube with a funnel at the end, fill the gearbox with 0.5 liters of ESSO LT 71141 oil;
- with the engine running, heat the gearbox oil to a temperature between 58 and 68°C;
- With the engine running, remove the oil level plug. The plug has a 19 mm hex head;
- if the oil flows out in a thin stream and then drips, then the oil level is correct. Update the oil wear counter;
- If oil drips out and then stops flowing, follow these steps:
- stop the engine;
- let the oil cool down;
- add 0.5 l of oil to the gearbox;
- repeat the operations to check the oil level in the gearbox;
- Replace the seal every time you remove the oil level plug.
Pic. 5.65. Plug location (1) draining oil from the gearbox
Draining the oil for replacement must be carried out on a hot gearbox, for this, spend a short drive in the car (pic. 5.65).
To change the gearbox oil:
- raise the car on a lift or place the car in a horizontal position on an inspection ditch;
- the oil can only be drained partially, the volume of the drained oil being approx. 4 l;
- place an oil collecting container under the oil drain hole and unscrew plug 1 (see fig. 5.64) oil drain. The plug has a 27mm hex head. If necessary, press the plug when unscrewing, so that the oil does not leak prematurely, drain the engine oil;
- when the oil is completely drained, wipe off the oil around the drain hole and screw in the oil drain plug with a new sealing ring, tightening it to 40 Nm;
- remove plug 2 (see fig. 5.65) for filling oil;
- Using filling cylinder 0341 or a tube with a funnel at the end, fill the gearbox with ESSO LT 71141 oil.
Filled oil volume:
- after draining the oil - 4 l;
- after removal and installation of the crankcase of the hydraulic block - 1.5 l;
- after draining the fluid and replacing the hydraulic unit - 4.5 l;
- after draining the fluid and replacing the torque converter - 5 l.
Attention! To carry out any work, add at least 0.5 liters of new oil to the transmission, update the oil wear gauge using a scan tool, and follow the oil level check procedure.
