Removing the instrument panel
1 - intermediate screws, 2 - bundles of electrical wires, 3 - front screws located in the engine compartment, 4 - side screws
Removing
1. Remove the negative cable from the battery.
2. Remove steering wheel.
3. Remove steering column covers.
4. Remove instrument cluster.
5. Remove radio.
6. Unscrew the fixing screws and remove the fenders from the center console.
7. Remove the headlight range control.
8. Remove the ashtray from the socket.
9. Unscrew two screws (indicated by arrows on the left) in the ashtray socket and one bolt (indicated by the arrow on the right) in the radio receiver socket.
10. Unscrew the two screws securing the top of the shelf.
11. Remove the front part of the instrument panel.
12. unscrew four screws (indicated by arrows), securing the heater panel.
13. Rotate the two mounting brackets a quarter of a turn, then lower the fuse box down from the panel.
14. Unscrew the two bolts securing the hood release lever located under the panel.
15. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the instrument panel lighting rheostat.
16. Disconnect the two main connectors (indicated by arrows) from the fuse box.
17. Disconnect the instrument cluster wire harnesses on the left and right sides, marking them for correct reinstallation.
18. Remove the side front trim on the driver's side and unscrew the bolt (indicated by an arrow) ground bus fasteners.
19. Remove the bolt and remove the relay carrier from the steering column lower carrier.
20. Unscrew the three nuts at the rear of the engine compartment (indicated by an arrow) instrument panel mounts.
21. unscrew the bolts (one on each side) instrument panel lower mount (bolts are indicated by an arrow).
22. Unscrew the two lower instrument panel mounting bolts located on both sides of the center console.
23. Unscrew the top bolt (indicated by an arrow) instrument panel mounts, located behind the controls for the heating and ventilation system.
24. Remove the reinforcement located between the instrument panel and the holder for the gearshift elements.
25. Remove the speedometer cable.
26. Remove the bundles of electrical wires of the instrument cluster, as well as the control of the heating and ventilation system.
27. Disconnect wiring from brake light switch.
28. Disconnect wiring from cigarette lighter and ashtray light.
29. Remove the instrument panel and remove it from the vehicle through the doorway.
Installation
To install the instrument panel, follow the steps in reverse order to the removal process and check that the seals are on the front intermediate pieces.
