Attention! The rear suspension is attached to the body with Torx bolts. To remove the rear suspension, you need a #50 long Torx tip.

Removing the rear suspension assembly

Removing the rear suspension assembly

Removing
1. Raise the car and place it on stands.
2. Remove the rear of the exhaust system to the front pipe.
3. Drain fuel from tank.
4. Remove the filler tube clip. Separate the pipe from the tank.
5. Remove bottom cover (equipment of some versions) and heat shield.
6. Disconnect the handbrake cable connector retainer from the body.
7. From the bottom of the body, remove the handbrake linkage.
8. Remove the handbrake cable.
9. Loosen, without unscrewing, the two rear mounting bolts to the fuel tank.
10. On the version with drum brakes, disconnect at the top of each suspension arm, and on the version with disc brakes, on the left side, the union of the brake hose connection. Seal off the relevant brake system connections.
11. In disc brakes, disconnect the tubes from the limiter and close the holes.
12. Place a jack under the beam tube.
13. Loosen the bolts securing the rear beam holders to the body and unscrew them.
14. Unscrew the bolts of the front holders.
15. Lower the jack slightly and move the entire rear suspension assembly back to remove the filler pipe from the fuel tank.
16. Raise the body.
17. Remove the entire rear suspension assembly.
Installation
1. Place the rear suspension unit under the body, resting the beam on the jack.
2. Lower the body lower and place the rear suspension assembly in the appropriate location.
3. Screw the bolts of the front beam holders to the body (use Torx No. 50 tip).
4. Screw in the bolts securing the rear beam holders to the body.
5. Connect brake system connections.
6. Screw in the tank mounting bolts.
7. Install the handbrake cable.
8. Install the hand brake link.
9. Install the handbrake cable connector retainer to the body.
10. Install the exhaust heat shield.
11. Fit the filling pipe to the tank and secure it with a new fastening clip.
