Placement of steering and suspension elements of the car
The steering system has rack and pinion steering and a safety steering column. The steering column has a universal joint located in the middle of the length, which is connected to the intermediate shaft, which has a second universal joint in the lower part. The lower universal joint is attached to the steering gear with a clamp bolt.
The steering gear is mounted on the front lower frame and is connected by two steering rods with ball joints at the outer ends to the steering knuckle. The steering rod at the end has a thread for adjusting the angles of the wheels. Steering rods are connected by ball joints with rack and pinion steering gear.
Power Steering (additional equipment) has a high pressure vane pump (driven by a belt from the crankshaft pulley), rotary diverter valve and hydraulic servomotor.
