Removing
1. Drain the fluid from the steering hydraulic system.
2. Loosen the pump mounting bolts and remove the drive belt.
3. Unscrew the high and low pressure pipes on the pump.
4. Loosen the screws and remove the pump.
Installation and adjustment
1. Installation is in the reverse order.
2. Tightening torque 55 Nm for a new belt and 30 Nm for a reused belt.
3. Fill the system with fluid and check for leaks.
Leak test
1. Visually inspect the connector, gasket, and seal surfaces for water, oil, or fuel leaks.
2. Pay special attention to the areas around the camshaft seal, cylinder head, oil filter and sump parting surfaces. Keep in mind that over the course of time some slight leakage is to be expected from these areas. If a leak is found, replace the gasket or seal.
3. Also check the condition of all pipes and hoses associated with the engine.
