Gasoline engines
Attention! Special care must be taken when working on the fuel system.
The fuel filter is changed after 30,000 km for carburetor models and 60,000 km for injection models.
Carburetor models
The fuel filter is installed in the fuel supply hose between the pump and the carburetor in the engine compartment.
1. To replace the fuel filter, remove the hose clamps and then remove the hoses from the filter.
2. When installing the filter, pay attention to the arrow on the filter housing, which shows the direction of the fuel flow passing through the filter, that is, to the fuel pump.
3. Check the fuel tank for impurities and sediment from the carburetor side. Empty the tank as needed.
4. Fuel system fittings on the tank:
- upper hose - return to the tank;
- middle hose - from the pump;
- lower hose - to the carburetor inlet.
Fuel Injection Models
The fuel filter is located under the bottom of the car, on the right side of the fuel tank. The arrows show the fuel supply hoses (A) and fastening bracket (B).
1. Clamp the fuel supply hose from the side of the filter, remove the clamps from the hoses, and then remove the hoses from the filter. Loosen the nut securing the filter bracket and pull the filter out of the bracket.
2. When installing the filter, pay attention to the arrow on the filter housing, which shows the direction of fuel flow through the filter.
3. Install a new filter in the bracket and secure with a nut, then install the clamps and remove the clamp from the fuel hose.
4. Start the engine and check the hose connections to the filter for leaks.
Diesel engines
The filter should be replaced every 22,500 km.
1. Remove the bottom cover at the filter attachment point.
2. Replace the filter insert and check the condition of the gaskets.
3. Fasten the cover.
4. Start the engine and check for leaks.
