Examination
1. If the fan does not work after reaching the maximum operating temperature (before the pointer of the temperature gauge enters the red sector or before the temperature alarm lamp lights up), turn off the ignition, remove the two wires from the thermal switch and connect them together.
2. Turn on the ignition. If the fan is now running, then the thermal switch is faulty and needs to be replaced.
3. If the fan does not work, check the battery voltage on the wires to the thermal switch. No voltage indicates either a wiring problem or a blown fuse.
4. If the thermal switch and wiring are in good condition, then the fan motor has failed. The motor can be tested by applying directly (additional wires) battery voltage to it.
Removing
1. Remove radiator.
2. Remove the front grille.
3. Unscrew the three screws securing the fan motor (indicated by arrows), remove it forward from the casing and disconnect the electrical connector.
Installation
Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.
