This operation requires partial removal of the toothed belt.
1. Attach the right upper engine mount and then remove the engine support tool (this does not apply to the XUD 7TE engine).
2. Remove the air filter, as well as its connections, injection lines and cylinder head cover.
3. Disconnect from a head of the block of cylinders branch pipes of a cooling liquid, fuel pipelines, electric connections. Disconnect the idling link with increased speed fixed on the pump.
4. On the XUD 7TE engine, tilt the engine forward and insert a block of wood (see fig. Placement of a wooden block to fix the engine). Remove intake manifold (central fixing screw).
5. Remove the power steering pump drive belt (if the vehicle is equipped with power steering).
6. Remove the left engine lifting eye.
7. On the XUD 9 engine, disconnect the exhaust pipe near the manifold and remove it from the expansion tank.
8. Unscrew the bolt securing the pulley to the camshaft, unscrew the blocking bolt and remove the toothed pulley.
9. Screw in the tension roller axle nut and unscrew the top bolt.
10. Unscrew the bolt securing the engine bracket to the cylinder head.
11. On the XUD 7TE engine, remove the three bolts securing the turbocharger to the exhaust manifold.
12. Unscrew ten bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders "in a spiral", starting from the outer bolt, and remove them together with the washers.
13. Separate the cylinder head and remove by guiding it to the right side so as to remove the end of the camshaft from the hole in the camshaft housing. Bracket for fastening the bypass pipe (on the right side of the engine) should be protected with a rag to prevent damage to the joint surface during removal of the cylinder head.
