Emission Control System (Peugeot 405)

All models have various built-in fuel system components that help minimize emissions, and all models have at least an emission control system. Models with a catalytic converter are also equipped with evaporative and exhaust control systems.

All models run on 95 unleaded gasoline, but the following early engines run on 97 leaded gasoline: TU3 (K1A); TU3A (K1G); XU92C (D2D); XU9J2 (D6A); XU9J4 (D6C); XU52C (B2A). However, unleaded petrol can be used if the ignition timing is reduced by 3°.
