Installing the retaining clip on the accelerator cable

1. In the engine compartment, remove the accelerator cable from the throttle lever and the outer cable sheath from the sealing ring (fastening the accelerator cable on the throttle lever is shown by an arrow in the figure on the left, fastening the outer sheath of the cable is shown on the right in the figure).
2. In the passenger compartment, remove the upholstery under the instrument panel on the driver's side.
3. Remove the accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal (the arrow shows the fastening of the cable to the pedal).
4. Remove the cable sheath from the latch and tie a cord to the cable, which will be needed to tighten the cable into place.
5. Pull the accelerator cable into the engine compartment and untie the cord from the cable.
