Removing the clutch release cable
Special tool for removing and installing the right rubber support
The engine is removed from the bottom of the car.
1. Place the vehicle on a stationary lift.
2. Open the hood and set it upright (see fig. Hood opening).
3. Disconnect ground wire from battery.
4. Remove the air filter and air filter cover.
5. Raise the car.
6. Drain the oil from the hydraulic circuit of the power steering system (in versions with hydraulic booster).
7. Drain the coolant from the cooling system.
8. Drain the oil from the gearbox and from the engine.
9. Remove the support connecting the axle shaft bearing housing to the body.
10. Loosen the nuts securing the intermediate bearing and turn the bolts a half turn.
11. Disconnect the speedometer cable from the gearbox.
12. Disconnect intake pipe from manifold.
13. Unscrew the bolts securing the stabilizer connectors to the arms.
14. Remove plastic transmission cover.
15. Remove wheels.
16. Unscrew the knuckle ball joint nuts and remove the ball joints using a universal puller or tool 0709.
17. Move the steering knuckles and remove the drive shafts from the differential.
18. Remove the intermediate shaft bearing housing.
19. Disconnect the cooling system pipes.
20. Remove the battery and its bracket, as well as the air filter assembly (top and bottom clamps).
21. Disconnect:
- heating hoses near the front bulkhead;
- brake booster vacuum line;
- accelerator cable;
- reverse gear lock cable;
- fuel lines;
- clutch cable (see fig. Removing the clutch release cable);
- connectors for the external gearshift mechanism;
- electrical connections connected to the engine and gearbox.
22. On vehicles equipped with power steering, remove:
- generator drive belt;
- power steering pump pulley;
- belt tension bar, as well as hydraulic booster pump pipelines.
23. In vehicles with fuel injection system:
- relieve pressure in the fuel system and disconnect the fuel and return hoses;
- disconnect the accelerator cable;
- disconnect the fuel system wiring;
- Remove the brake booster vacuum hoses from the exhaust manifold.
24. Hook the engine onto the brackets located at each end of the cylinder head.
25. Remove the left suspension bracket located on the gearbox (drawing on the left), right engine mount (drawing on the right).
26. Remove the engine from below the car.
