Gearbox heat exchanger
1 - coolant hose, 2 - coolant hose, 3 - heat exchanger mounting bolt, 4 - heat exchanger
Removing
1. The heat exchanger is mounted on top of the gearbox housing. To access the heat exchanger, remove the air supply pipes to the engine.
2. Using a clamp, clamp both coolant supply hoses to the heat exchanger in order to reduce coolant loss.
3. Loosen the clamps and disconnect both coolant hoses from the heat exchanger.
4. Unscrew the central bolt securing the heat exchanger, and remove the heat exchanger from the gearbox. Remove the two O-rings from the heat exchanger.
O-rings heat exchanger
1 - inner o-ring, 2 - outer o-ring, 3 - center bolt o-ring
Installation
Lubricate new O-rings with clean transmission fluid and install them on the base of the heat exchanger. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, after which it is necessary to add coolant to the cooling system.
