Removing the sealing ring from the speedometer drive housing
Removing
1. Raise the front of the car and secure it on stands. The speedometer drive is located on the rear of the gearbox housing, near the inner end of the right drive shaft.
2. Remove the pin and remove the speedometer cable from the speedometer drive. If equipped, disconnect the electrical connector from the speedometer actuator.
3. Remove the speedometer drive mounting bolt.
4. Remove the speedometer drive together with the gear from the gearbox housing.
5. If necessary, the gear can be removed from the housing and the O-ring replaced.
6. If the speedometer drive gear is worn, check the condition of the drive gear in the gearbox housing.
7. To remove the speedometer drive gear, remove the right drive shaft from the gearbox, unscrew the three bolts, and remove the speedometer drive housing from the gearbox. Remove the speedometer drive gear from the differential along with the shims.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, while it is necessary to combine the protrusions on the speedometer drive drive gear with the grooves on the differential (indicated by arrows).
