Mounting on the press of the output shaft bearing
snap ring groove (arrow) should be directed outward.
1. Remove with a puller (if necessary) 5th gear and bearing.
2. Remove the 3rd and 4th gear cluster, the 2nd gear and its bushing, and the 1-2 gear synchronizer.
3. Remove the 1st gear, thrust needle bearing, and bearing retaining ring.
4. Secure the shaft end with a nut and remove the bearing with a press.
5. Replace the bearing with a new one and install it on the shaft on the press. To do this, use a special tubular mandrel or tool 8.0317 E.
6. Insert the ring that fixes the bearing. Insert thrust needle bearing and 1st gear.
7. Install synchronizer 1-2 gears; the rise of the synchronizer teeth must be directed towards the final drive gear. The designations for the hub and sliding sleeve made during disassembly must be observed.
8. Install the 2nd gear with its bushing.
9. Install the 3rd and 4th gear assembly.
10. Install bearing. The circlip groove must face outward.
