Replacing the air filter element (30,000 km) (Peugeot 406)

The maintenance operations are the same as those of gasoline vehicles, except for the following differences.



1. Loosen the clamp and remove the inlet from the filter housing cover.


2. On 2.1 liter engine models, disconnect the coolant hoses (photo on the left) and ventilation (photo on the right) from the air filter cover.

3. On 1.9 liter engine models, remove the accelerator cable from the air filter cover.



4. Loosen the air filter cover screws.



5. Lift the cover and remove the filter element.

6. Wipe down the air filter housing and cover.

7. Install a new filter element in the filter housing. Close the cover and screw it on.

8. Install the ventilation and cooling hoses and the accelerator cable in their places. Install the inlet and secure with clamps.
