Attention! The hoses may only be removed after the engine has cooled down to avoid scalding. Before starting work, drain the coolant from the cooling system.
Conventional hose connections
The usual hose connection is a cooling system hose pushed all the way over the fitting and secured from above with a clamp. To remove the hose, loosen the clamp, slide it from the connection point along the hose and pull the hose off the fitting. If the hose fits tightly on the fitting, then when tightening the hose, turn it in different directions or pry off the end of the hose with a screwdriver blade.
Attention! When removing the hose from the radiator fitting, be careful, because. The radiator fitting is fragile and can be easily broken.
Attention! If the hose is not removed from the fitting, you can cut it along the fitting and, cutting along the axis, remove it from the fitting. In this case, the hose must be replaced with a new one.
Hoses with special connector
Attention! Whenever a hose is connected to a special connector, a new O-ring must always be installed.
1. On some models, special plastic connectors can be installed to connect the hose. To remove this type of connector, proceed as follows.
2. To remove a hose with a special connector, turn the blocking ring (2) all the way to the hole (1).
3. Press lug of hose connector to release grips (3).
4. Remove the hose and special connector from the radiator.
5. When installing the connector, wipe both halves of the connector with a clean cloth.
6. Replace o-ring with connector. The place of installation of a new sealing ring is indicated by an arrow.
7. Turn the locking ring clockwise until it clicks.
8. Position the orienting groove correctly when reinstalling the hose connector (indicated by an arrow).
9. Install the connector on the radiator until the hooks click into place.
10. Check the connection by pulling on the hose.
11. Add fluid to the cooling system.
12. Check the cooling system for leaks.
Snap Hose Connection
Attention! A new o-ring must always be installed with any snap-on hose connection.
1. On some models, coolant hoses are fitted with snap-on connectors, i.e. the coupling is fixed with a retaining ring (the sealing ring of the connector is indicated by an arrow).
2. To disconnect this type of connection, using a small screwdriver, remove the circlip. After that, you can remove the hose from the connector.
3. When reassembling the connector, install a new O-ring on the inside of the connector and connect both parts of the connector until they are secured with the circlip. Check that the circlip is properly seated in the groove on the inside of the connector. By moving the hose sideways, check the connection and replenish the cooling system.
