Removing
1. Remove the toothed belt.
2. Remove the 8mm set bolts securing the fuel pump pulley from turning.
3. On some models, the pulley may be equipped with a puller, which consists of a plate bolted to the pulley. On models without a puller, the pulley can be removed from the shaft using a plate and two bolts that are screwed into the holes provided in the pulley.
4. Secure the high pressure fuel pump shaft against turning using the special tool.
5. On models with a built-in puller, unscrew the pulley retaining nut and remove the pulley and key from the pump shaft.
6. On models without a built-in puller, partially unscrew the pulley mounting nut, install a makeshift puller and tighten the two bolts until the pulley is removed from the pump shaft. Remove the pulley and segment key.
Installation
1. Fit the slotted key into the groove on the pump shaft.
2. If the built-in puller has been removed from the pulley, screw the two puller bolts into the pulley.
3. Install the pulley and secure it with the nut, tightening it to the required torque. At the same time, keep the pulley from turning.
4. Check that the set bolts and rod are installed in the holes of the camshaft pulleys, high pressure fuel pump and flywheel.
5. Install the toothed belt on the high pressure fuel pump pulley so that the marks made on the belt and pulley before removal are aligned.
6. Adjust the toothed belt tension.
7. Install the toothed belt guards.
Coolant pump pulley
The cooling system pump pulley is pressed onto the pump shaft and cannot be removed from the pump separately.
