Checking the ignition system (Peugeot 406)

1. In the event of a malfunction in the engine management system, check that the air filter element is clean, the spark plugs are in good condition and with adjusted gaps, the engine ventilation hoses are not clogged, and the accelerator cable is correctly adjusted.

2. Then check the compression pressure in the cylinders and valve clearances.

3. If the checks carried out do not determine the cause of the deterioration of the engine, it is necessary to have the engine checked at a Peugeot station.
