Setting the injection timing (Peugeot 406)

The injection timing must be set after the position of the fuel pump has been changed.

Equipment for dynamic injection timing, based on the conversion of a pressure pulse in the injector pipe into an electrical signal, is available only at the Peugeot station.

Static timing gives good results if done carefully. When making this adjustment on a Bosch fuel pump, you must have a dial indicator with appropriate adapters. A special tool must be used when performing this work on a Lucas pump.
