Rules for cleanliness and safety when working with the fuel system (Peugeot 605)

When working on the fuel supply system, the following cleanliness and safety precautions must be carefully followed:

• no open flames or sparks near the workplace! No smoking! The workplace must be equipped with a fire extinguisher!
• ensure good ventilation of the workplace. Fuel fumes are poisonous.
• the fuel system is under pressure. When the system is opened, fuel may be ejected. Collect leaked fuel with a rag. When performing work, wear safety goggles;
• thoroughly clean the joints and adjacent surfaces before disconnecting pipelines;
• lay the removed parts on a clean lining and cover them with plastic wrap or paper. Do not use fluffy cloth for this!
• open parts carefully cover or close if repairs are not carried out immediately;
• remove spare parts from the packaging immediately before installing them;
• if possible, do not work with compressed air when the fuel system is open. If possible, do not move the car;
• do not use a silicone-based sealant.
