You can check the operation of the thermal switch by lowering it into a container of water and heating the water. A thermometer must also be installed in the container.
1. Connect the thermal switch to the power supply (battery). Connect a test light to this circuit. Keep the temperature-sensitive end of the switch in heated water (see illustration).

2. Make sure that the control lamp lights up at a water temperature corresponding to the temperature at which the thermal switch should operate.
3. Let the water cool down a bit and then put the thermal switch back into the water to make sure the control light is off. This means that the contacts of the thermal switch have opened. The corresponding ratings are given in the specifications.
