In order to avoid injury to service personnel by the high voltage current generated by the ignition system and / or damage to the system itself, the following rules must be observed when performing work:
- A) Persons with a pacemaker are not allowed to work with electronic ignition systems.
- b) Do not touch or disconnect the ignition wires while the engine is running. The same requirement is also true when cranking the engine with a starter.
- V) Work on the system may only be carried out with the engine switched off and the ignition switched off.
- G) Connection and removal of instrumentation is only permitted when the engine is off and the ignition is off.
- d) Connection of control lamps to the terminals of the ignition coil is not allowed.
- and) Do not crank the engine over with the starter unless all parts of the ignition system are installed.
- h) Do not take measurements with the engine running or cranking the engine using the starter if this requires connecting one of the wires to «mass» (-).
- e) Do not connect high voltage wires to «weight» (-).
