Fuel pump located outside next to the fuel tank (see illustration 5.39).
The roller-type fuel pump, located next to the fuel tank, receives fuel from the fuel tank and pumps it to the fuel line through the fuel filter.
A fuel pressure damper is installed in front of the fuel line to reduce the vibration of the fuel pump. The shock absorber is similar to the fuel pressure regulator, but without the vacuum tube.
Fuel pump installed inside the fuel tank (see illustration 5.40)
The fuel pump is mounted vertically in the fuel tank and includes an external and internal gear set.

See illustrations 11.2, 11.3, 11.4, 11.5, 11.6
Note. The supply voltage is only available when the crankshaft is cranked or the engine is running. Starting the fuel pump when the ignition is on (engine off), needed to bypass the relay.
Influence of external factors
- Damaged battery contacts
- Egnition lock
- Wiring
- Relay
- Inertial switch or fuse
- Low battery voltage
- Clogged fuel filter in fuel tank
- Damaged fuel lines
