Note. To perform all the steps below, the sliding side door must be removed from the vehicle (see paragraph 10).
Interior door handle
Removing
1. Remove the interior door trim panel as described in paragraph 11.
2. Turn out the top and bottom screws of fastening of the internal handle of a door. Keep in mind that the top screw is located under the decorative cover (pic. 13.2).

3. Disconnect draft from the bent lever and remove the internal handle from a door.
Installation
4. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Finally, install the interior door trim panel as described in paragraph 11.
External door handle

5. Remove the inner door trim panel as described in paragraph 11.
6. Disconnect the two rods of the outer door handle from the corresponding levers on the lock control unit, noting the position of their installation (pic. 13.6).

7. Remove the foam padding and remove the two screws securing the outside door handle. Remove the handle and rods from the outside of the door (pic. 13.7, a, b).

Installation
8. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. When connecting a rod with an adjustable threaded end, fix it in the clamps on the lever of the lock control unit and check the correct operation of the lock mechanism. If necessary, adjust the position of the rod relative to the lock control lever to ensure satisfactory operation. Finally, install the foam padding and install the interior door trim panel as described in paragraph 11.
Door lock
Note. Installation may require new foam padding.
Removing
9. Remove the inner door trim panel as described in paragraph 11.
10. Using a sharp knife, carefully separate the foam padding next to the door lock from the adhesive layer on the door and remove the padding. If you are careful, you can remove the packing in one piece and reuse it when installing.
11. Disconnect the door lock rod from the lever on the lock control unit, noting the position of its installation (pic. 13.11).

15. Loosen the screw securing the drive cable clamp to the door and slide the cable out of the clamp. Disconnect the end of the cable from the drive lever and remove the latch from the door (pic. 13.15).

Installation
16.Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Before tightening the drive cable clamp screw, adjust the cable as described below.
17. Align the adjustment holes in the latch lock lever and the support bracket, and insert a 5.0 mm drill bit through these two holes (pic. 13.15).
18. Tighten the drive cable to take up any slack, and then tighten the clamp bar mounting screw. Remove the drill and check that the latch is working properly.
Latch control cable for fixing the door in the open position
Removing
19. Remove the inner door trim panel as described in paragraph 11.
20. Using a sharp knife, carefully separate the plastic waterproofing sheet from the adhesive layer on the door and remove the sheet. If you are careful, you can remove the waterproofing sheet in one piece and reuse it when installing (pic. 13.20).

21. Using a small screwdriver, pry the cable sheath at the top end of the cable from the support bracket. Disconnect the cable end from the drive arm (pic. 13.21, a, b).

22. Loosen the screw securing the cable clamp to the door in the area of the lower end of the cable and slide the cable out of the clamp. Disconnect the end of the cable from the drive lever on the latch.
23. Release the rubber sealing bushings and remove the cable from the door.
Installation
24. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Before tightening the cable clamp screw, adjust the cable as described in p. 17 and 18. Install a new waterproofing sheet if «old» was damaged upon removal. Finally, install the interior door trim panel as described in paragraph 11.
Lock blocker (to prevent children from using)
Removing
25. Remove the outside door handle as described above.
26. Working through the door handle opening, use a pair of narrow-jawed pliers to squeeze the tabs on the side of the lock block (pic. 13.26).

Lock control unit
Note. The lock control unit is attached to the door with rivets. For installation, prepare new rivets of the appropriate size.
Removing
28. Remove the inner door trim panel as described in paragraph 11.
30. Remove the lock block as described above.
31. Disconnect the upper end of the door latch control cable in the open position, as described in paragraph 21.
32. Mark the installation position and installation diagram of all rods, then disconnect the rods from the drive levers of the control unit.
33. Disconnect the electrical connector of the lock control motor (pic. 13.33).

34. Using a 6.0 mm drill, drill out the heads of the rivets securing the control box to the door. Remove the remaining screw and remove the block from the door.
Installation
35. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Properly position all tie rods. Finally, install the interior door trim panel as described in paragraph 11.
