Note. Read the warning about the danger of brake fluid given at the beginning of the operation before starting work paragraph 2, and the warning about the danger of asbestos dust given at the beginning of paragraph 5.
Removing
1. Remove the rear brake pads as described in paragraph 5.
2. To minimize brake fluid leakage, first loosen the brake fluid reservoir cap and then tighten it again with a piece of polyethylene underneath to ensure a tight seal. Alternatively, if necessary, the hose can be sealed off with a suitable brake hose clamp, clamp or other similar tool. Shut off in the nearest convenient place near the wheel cylinder (pic. 9.2).
Pic. 9.2. To minimize brake fluid leakage, place an appropriate clamp on the brake hose to pinch it
3. Wipe off the dirt around the brake pipe fitting on the back of the wheel cylinder and remove the union nut (pic. 9.3). Carefully disconnect the tubing from the cylinder and plug the end to prevent dirt from getting inside. Wipe up spilled liquid immediately.
Pic. 9.3. Using a special wrench for brake lines, unscrew the union nut on the wheel brake cylinder
4. Turn out two bolts of fastening of the wheel cylinder on the back side of a board of a brake and remove the cylinder. Be extremely careful not to get brake fluid on the brake pads.
5. Please note that it is not possible to repair the cylinder as no items are supplied separately. In the event of a malfunction, the entire wheel cylinder must be replaced.
Installation
6. The location of the elements of the brake pads is such that to remove the pads, the wheel cylinder should be disconnected from the brake shield. Follow the brake pad installation procedure described in paragraph 5, and then after installing the wheel cylinder, continue as described below.
7. Connect the brake line and screw the flare nut two or three turns to «make money» her.
8. Screw in two bolts of fastening of the wheel cylinder and reliably tighten them. Now fully tighten the union nut of the brake line.
9. Remove the clip from the brake hose or the polyethylene from the brake fluid reservoir (whichever is applicable).
10. Bleed the air from the hydraulic brake actuator as described in paragraph 2. Subject to the above precautions, only the brake circuit of the affected rear wheel will need to be bled to minimize brake fluid leakage.
