Note. Read the warning about the danger of brake fluid given at the beginning of the operation before starting work paragraph 2.
Note. The rear brake pressure regulator is not used on later models with ABS.
Removing
1. Place wheel chocks under the front wheels, Raise the rear of the vehicle and securely jack it up (see «Lifting and placing the car on supports»). Remove the right rear wheel.
2. To minimize brake fluid leakage, first loosen the brake fluid reservoir cap and then tighten it again with a piece of polyethylene underneath to ensure a tight seal.
3. Disconnect the control valve actuating spring from the bracket on the rear suspension.
4. Wipe clean the area around the brake pipe fittings on the valve and place an absorbent rag under the connections to collect the escaping fluid.
5. Turn away cap nuts and accurately remove brake pipelines from a regulator of pressure. Plug the ends of the lines and regulator ports to minimize brake fluid leakage and prevent dirt from entering the system.
6. Turn out a bolt of fastening of the valve to a basic arm and remove assembly from under the car.
Installation
7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Tighten the brake pipe union nuts securely. Finally, bleed the entire hydraulic drive as described in paragraph 2. If a new valve has been installed or the adjusting nuts on the valve actuating rod have been tampered with, have a Peugeot/Citroen dealer adjust the pressure regulator.
