Removing
1. Disconnect the wire «masses» from battery (see «Disconnecting the battery»).
2. Remove the fuse box cover and the lower section of the front panel on the driver's side. Remove the upper and lower steering column covers as described in chapter 12.
3. Track electroconducting, since the ignition switch, and disunite electric sockets under the front panel. Release the wiring harness from the clips.
4. Disconnect the immobilizer transceiver electrical connector at the ignition switch, and then release and remove the transceiver cover from the ignition switch cylinder (pic. 19.4).

5. Remove the screw (with puck) fasteners of the lock on the side of the lock. On later models, the lock is fixed with a screw that prevents it from being unscrewed. Using a center punch, mark the center of the screw, and then use a drill and puller to remove the screw. A new screw is required.
6. After inserting the ignition key, turn it so that it is aligned with the marking located between the letters A and M on the cylinder.
7. Using a small flathead screwdriver, press the lock tab on the side of the lock (pic. 19.7).

8. Remove the lock assembly from the steering column and pass the wiring harness through the column pipe.
Installation
9. Pass the wiring harness through the dispenser tube and position the lock assembly in its original position. Make sure the ignition key is still aligned with the marking located between the letters A and M, and then press the lock into place until the locking tab locks.
10. Fix the lock with a screw (putting the puck), and then install the immobilizer transceiver. Connect the immobilizer transceiver electrical connector.
11. Remove the ignition key and check that the steering column lock is working properly.
12. Match the electrical connectors under the front panel and fix them with the appropriate clips.
13. Install the steering column covers as described in chapter 11, and then install the fuse box cover and lower bezel section. Connect the battery.
